Arcade Sports Games Archive Card Pandora Game Console

Sports games you can learn in one coin

The Arcade Sports Games Archive Card collects sports games you could figure out in the time it took to drop a quarter in. Most of them use a stick, a couple of buttons and a clock, and they are better with a friend next to you than they ever were alone.

The list covers the 80s and 90s and reaches into the 2000s. Some of it you will know on sight, like NBA Jam Tournament Edition and Tecmo Super Bowl. Some of it you may never have heard of. Windjammers, the Neo Geo frisbee game, was a cult favorite for years before most people got to play it, and it is still one of the best two-player games on the card.

Highlights from the list

• NBA Jam Tournament Edition
• NFL Blitz 2000 and NFL Blitz 2001, both the Dreamcast editions
• Tecmo Super Bowl
• NHL Open Ice 2 on 2 Challenge
• Virtua Tennis and Virtua Tennis 2
• Ready 2 Rumble Boxing
• Tony Hawk's Pro Skater
• Windjammers
• Baseball Stars 2 and Turf Masters
• Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!

Those are the ones we reach for first. There is also wrestling, bowling, volleyball, snowboarding and a few unreleased arcade odds and ends, and Click for Game List shows every title before you add the card.

Head to head on one panel

Arcade sports games were built for two people standing shoulder to shoulder, and a Pandora Game Console panel puts you right back there. NBA Jam and NFL Blitz both lean on big plays and bigger mistakes, which is half the fun when the other player is sitting a foot away. Virtua Tennis is quieter but gets surprisingly tense at deuce.

A few games on the list ask for more than a lever. Def Jam Fight for NY is marked on the game list as needing a PS4 or analog controller, and the racing games feel more natural with an analog stick under your thumb. We carry a renewed PS4 controller pad and a wired analog controller pad for exactly that.

Card slots and what to expect

Put the Arcade Sports Games Archive Card in any of the three card slots when you build a Pandora Game Console. It slides into the back of the console, and the games appear in the menu next to the ones from your other cards. Every game here was tested for performance on the hardware before it went on the list.

This card is for Pandora Platinum Pro consoles. Other Pandora Platinum versions cannot use it, and it is not compatible with consoles that run a non Pandora Platinum mainboard.

Archive types, formats and titles on this card are subject to change at any time. We may remove archived games if we deem it necessary, and there is no guarantee of expected performance of your backup.

**Pandora Game Console consoles do not come with any pre-installed licensed or unlicensed software. Any Added Archive service is provided as-is with no implied warranties or licenses. Performance of archive has been tested and will work with your Pandora Platinum Pro version console. Adding an archive card constitutes your acknowledgement of ownership of original licensed hardware/software and your request of the service permits us to perform archiving for you on your behalf as a service.
