About this product
Marvel Super Heroes is the Capcom fight where the Infinity Gems drop in the middle of a round and whoever grabs one gets a power boost. This listing pairs it with a Pandora Game Console Platinum Pro, the board that supports the game, plus arcade sticks to play it on.
Capcom put it in arcades in 1995, on the CPS-2 hardware, a year after X-Men Children of the Atom. It came before X-Men vs Street Fighter, Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter and Marvel vs Capcom 2, and you can see those games being worked out here: big air combos, super meters that fill fast, and characters scaled to fill the screen. It is still a straight one on one game, though, without tag partners or assists, so the only help you get is the gem you happen to be carrying.
Each fighter gets different mileage from different gems, so part of learning a character is learning which gem to chase. The roster is Captain America, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Wolverine, Psylocke, Hulk, Juggernaut, Magneto, Shuma-Gorath and Blackheart, with Doctor Doom and Thanos waiting at the end.
You get the complete home console in single or separated panels (choose the style on this page), the Power AC cable, an HDMI cable, an extra set of arcade buttons and the Pandora Box Platinum Pro board. The game itself is added on an archive card, and you do need to add it to play.
The first slot here is the Fighting Masters Archive Card. Marvel Super Heroes shares it with Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter, X-Men vs Street Fighter, X-Men Children of the Atom, Marvel vs Capcom, Marvel vs Capcom 2 and the Darkstalkers games, so the whole Capcom Marvel line sits on one card. Click for Game List shows everything else on it, including the Street Fighter 2 and Alpha games.
Hardware comes as the Pandora Single Panel, the Pandora Dual Panel or the Pandora Wireless 2 Joystick Separated Edition. Under Get the Official Sanwa Upgrade? you can stay on Default Pandora Platinum Hardware or move to Sanwa joysticks, Sanwa buttons, or both. Sanwa levers are what Japanese arcade cabinets use, and the difference shows up in quarter circle motions more than anywhere else.
Two more card slots are optional: 3 and 4 Player Arcade Games Archive, Mario Kart Madness & Friends, Mortal Kombat Life Retro Archive Card and Neo Geo Arcade Games List Archive in the second, with Retro Arcade Games List Archive also offered in the third.
Marvel Super Heroes is compatible with the Pandora Game Console Platinum Pro version board. The three videos on this page show it in play.
