About this product
Marvel vs Capcom 2 is the reason a lot of people wanted an arcade stick at home in the first place. Capcom put it out in 2000, on Sega's Naomi arcade board and then on the Dreamcast, and two decades later players still run it at tournaments.
The appeal is the chaos. You pick three characters from a huge roster that mixes Marvel heroes with Capcom's own fighters, then tag them in and out, call assists and throw supers that cover the whole screen. It is loud and fast, and it rewards hours of practice. On a lever and six buttons it makes even more sense, because that is the controller it was built for.
This is a Pandora Game Console built on the Platinum Pro board, set up for Marvel vs Capcom 2. The game itself is not a cartridge or a download. It lives on the Fighting Masters Archive Card, which is the archive card selected for this package, alongside the rest of Capcom's versus series and the Street Fighter 2 editions.
Both versions run here: the Naomi arcade version and the Dreamcast version. Neither one works on the older boards; Marvel vs Capcom 2 needs the Pandora Platinum Pro board.
There are three hardware styles on this page: Pandora Single Panel, Pandora Dual Panel, and the Pandora Wireless 2 Joystick Separated Edition, where each player gets their own stick. For a fighting game you play with friends on the couch, the separated edition is worth a look.
Then the controls. You can keep the Default Pandora Platinum Hardware, or answer "Get the Official Sanwa Upgrade?" with buttons, joysticks, or both. Marvel vs Capcom 2 is the game where we would go all the way to Sanwa Joysticks & Buttons. The inputs come fast, and Sanwa parts feel the way a real Japanese cabinet feels.
You can also add a second and a third archive card. The options on this page include the 3 and 4 Player Arcade Games Archive, the Mortal Kombat Life Retro Archive Card, the Neo Geo Arcade Games List Archive and others. If you only want MvC2 and its neighbors, choose No Additional Game Archive and stop there. The three gameplay videos on this page show the game running on the console.
**Pandora Game Console consoles do not come with any pre-installed licensed or unlicensed software. Any Added Archive service is provided as-is with no implied warranties or licenses. Performance of archive has been tested and will work with your Pandora Platinum Pro version console. Adding an archive card constitutes your acknowledgement of ownership of original licensed hardware/software and your request of the service permits us to perform archiving for you on your behalf as a service.
Imitators copy the look. They can’t copy the board, the curated game archives, the Lifetime Mainboard Warranty or real US SUPPORT. Every Pandora Game Console ships with genuine arcade-grade parts.
