Original NES Games Collection Vol 1 Pandora Game Console

Original NES Games Collection Vol 1 is an archive card of 8-bit games from the Nintendo Entertainment System, the gray box that landed in American living rooms in 1985. If you still have a drawer of those cartridges, you probably also know the routine: blow on the contacts, jiggle the cart, reset, try again.

Original hardware is now around 40 years old. The connector pins wear out, and even a working console looks rough on a modern TV. This card lets you play the games on a Pandora Game Console instead, with the picture coming through cleanly and nothing to jiggle.

What the collection covers

Volume 1 gathers a big batch of original NES games and mixes in some titles people assumed were gone for good. Those are the ones that only ever turned up at garage sales or in a friend's closet, and finding a working copy now is a project of its own.

Use the controller you remember

Plenty of NES games feel fine on an arcade stick, especially the ones that started life as arcade ports. But some of us have the rectangle pad burned into muscle memory. The console works with a compatible USB NES or SNES style controller, so you can hold it the way you did as a kid. The USB Super Nintendo Controller in our parts section is one option.

With two buttons, a d-pad, Start and Select, the NES layout is about as simple as it gets. It maps to the arcade panel without any thinking on your part, so you can switch between pad and stick from one game to the next.

A good first card

If you are building your first Pandora Game Console and cannot decide on cards, this is a safe pick for a household with kids. Most NES games take ten seconds to explain, and some of them still take weeks to beat. Pair it with a Super Nintendo or Genesis card and you have most of a childhood covered.

Check your board first

The card is built for Pandora Platinum Pro consoles. It is not compatible with other Pandora Platinum versions, or with any console whose mainboard is not a Pandora Platinum board.
